Any idea how early we need to arrive at wiinter jam 2011 to ensure we get in?

    • #18 by Winter Jam Tour on January 3, 2011 - 8:06 pm

      Hey,

People generally start lining up 2-4 hours before the scheduled door time. There are some diehards that will camp overnight or arrive first thing in the morning though so it is hard to gauge how the line will fill from show to show.

If I were you I would bring some camping chairs and a cooler of sodas and plan to hang out in line for a few hours to guarantee that you will get in.

Thanks to all the groups for serving the Lord. WE SERVE AN AWESOME GOD!!!!!!

I love Red. I hope that my youth group (in Charlottesville VA) isn’t going to be getting there (Roanoke) too late, because I don’t want to miss it. I hope that it comes a little bit closer to us next year (and I hope that Red will still be a part of it ;D. Oh, and if dates matter, I can’t make it on a Sunday, because I’m stuck at home editing my Pastor’s sermon so that I don’t get behind, because I am largely responsible for a lot of the media that goes on at my church).Thank you for reading this, and I hope that you’ll take my words into consideration for future events.

I am so excited of the late entry of Jason Castro to the line up for the pre jam party. His music has really had a great influence on my life and my family. God works in wonderous ways and through Jason has made a difference in my relationship that was damaged with my mom. Thanks to God and thank you Jason Castro!

I am so disappointed. The only concert within driving distance was on a Sunday night. I am part of the praise & worship team at our church and there was no question where I belonged that night but sure would have liked to have been at the concert.

Wondering if there will be a “mother’s room” or anything like that tonight @ WinterJam in Dallas? We are traveling 3 hours with our youth group, leaving as soon as school’s out. We’ll be getting there right at start time (barring any mishaps). This year we have to bring our small children along as well, including a nursing infant. I was just wondering if anyone knew if there’s a place designated for nursing mom’s, the stroller, etc.?

  32. #48 by Michelle on February 21, 2011 - 4:24 am

Spectacular. I just arrived home from W J 2011 in Kansas City Missouri. Very up lifting and inspirational. What a wonderful experience to be with so very many God loving people. I thank God that we can worship him openly, in this way.
Thank you for an outstanding evening. I am planing ahead, next time…I will buy VIP and take more people with me. I want to share this beautiful experience with as many as possible. God Bless and Thank you.

    Hi:
Loved the concert, But miss the alter calls you use to have at the Maybe Center, and to let you know that the parking lots are really sticking it to people that attend, we paid the amount on the sign and was still given a fifty dollar Parking Violation being told that they charge more than their posted prices for events. Let us know if you move back to the Maybe Center so we can attend again.
Love what you are doing Pastor Don

Just tried to go to the concert in Reading, PA, which is an hour and half drive. Got there hours early & it sold out before we could get in. There were thousands of people turned away, people who came in buses from hours away. If you are going to any concerts coming up in other cities, just be sure you arrive many hours before.

    • #60 by Chris on March 18, 2011 - 9:01 pm

We tried to get in but were to late as well. I don’t understand why they don’t presell. Heard alot of people turned away that drove several hours. It was very disappointing to many. Cudos to the bands for coming outside to play a couple songs for the people not able to get in.

      • #61 by Winter Jam Tour on March 23, 2011 - 4:13 pm

        Hey Chris,

I am sorry to hear that you were one of the folks that didn’t get into the show. I wanted to address your question about why we don’t pre-sell tickets for Winter Jam.

The goal for the Tour is to make the show available to as many people as possible by keeping the price as low as possible. One of the main ways that we do this is by not pre-selling tickets saving the cost of printing, box office fees, additional on site personnel, etc as well as making every effort to get the largest venue in the area.

We also put the door price at $10 to allow families and large groups to attend and then take an offering to help cover expenses and to help build the finances to put the tour on the following year. I know that a $10-$20 increase per ticket sounds like the easiest way to cover the expenses when you are talking about paying admission for 1 or 2 people but coming from a family of twelve, I can attest to the fact that a large family or group would struggle to come up with the additional funds to go from $10/person to $30/person.

Thank you for voicing your concerns and giving us a chance to explain our reasoning.

Last year in St. Louis, they apparently auctioned off some of the front row seating to the highest bidder. Will that be happening again this year. Will there be any advance tickets sold this year?

    • #64 by Winter Jam Tour on March 23, 2011 - 4:10 pm

      Hey Missy,

I can assure you that we did not auction front row seating to the “highest bidder” last year. We do sell a $50 VIP pass that allows a few hundred people into the venue early to choose their seats before the GA doors are opened.

All proceeds of the VIP Platinum Membership help offset the operating costs of The Winter Jam Tour Spectacular. The revenue from the VIP Platinum Membership helps us maintain a high quality ministry-focused concert experience while offering an incredibly affordable general admission price of $10 at the door.
